Hamden Town Council Minority Leader Betty Wetmore, has endorsed Republican candidate, Kathy Hoyt, for state representative in the 88th district. Wetmore praised Hoyt’s long standing work in the community as a major reason for her endorsement. “Kathy is a community pillar; she is someone I have had the pleasure to know long before she announced her run. She is engaged in our community, in touch with the needs of our residents, and someone I am confident will continue to prioritize the needs of Hamden when she represents us in Hartford,” Wetmore continued. “Kathy has lived here nearly her entire life she has celebrated in our success and has never stopped working to make Hamden a better place. As a homeowner in Hamden, I want someone representing us in Hartford that is invested both emotionally and financially in our town such as Kathy.”
Hoyt is a longtime Hamden resident; her children are graduates of the Hamden school system. Hoyt served as a teacher and later as a school administrator for nearly two decades. Hoyt currently works as a Realtor and small business owner in Hamden. She is also a board member on the Hamden Chamber of Commerce.
